Two arrested in connection with killing
Two people have been arrested in connection with the killing of a man in north Belfast last month.
Stephen Paul, 28, was shot at Wheatfield Crescent, Crumlin Road, on 30 July, in what is believed to have been connected to the ongoing loyalist feud between the UVF and LVF.
The two men being questioned are thought to be in their 30s.
Mr Paul had survived a previous murder bid in Bangor in January 1999 and had also received numerous death threats over the years.
Meanwhile, Lagan Valley DUP MLA Edwin Poots has said loyalist paramilitaries "need to wise up" and get off the backs of the Protestant Community, "which they claim to defend".
Speaking in response to the ongoing loyalist feud, Mr Poots said: “Loyalist paramilitaries claim to exist because of the Republican threat against their community but the reality is that people in the loyalist community are living in fear not from their traditional enemy but from people within their own community.
"The ongoing feud within elements of loyalism is causing huge damage and demoralising the unionist community," he concluded.

Defections and exile decimates Adair's C Company
Up to 50 members of Johnny Adair's lower Shankill-based C Company left the country in the early hours of this morning after the mainstream UDA moved against the renegade faction. It is thought that Adair's family and his close ally John White were among the party which left for the Larne ferry terminal under police escort.
