Hoax pipe bomb attack on pub

Police in Londonderry are appealing for witnesses following the discovery of a pipe bomb type device outside a bar on Sunday.

The device is believed to have been thrown at the premises on the Strabane old road, Gobnascale, at around 2.15am. Army Techical Officers were called to te scene and after an examination of the device, it was declared an elaborate hoax around three hours later. Police would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident, particularly a taxi driver who was believed to be in the area at the time.

Appeal Following Petrol Bomb Attack In Banbridge
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a petrol bomb attack in Banbridge, in the early hours of Tuesday 19th March. It was reported that at around 2.10am on Tuesday morning, two petrol bombs were thrown at the back wall of a house in the Castlewellan Road area, causing scorch damage to the wall and a window frame.

Anil Patel pled guilty to attempted sexual communication with a child, arranging the commission of a child sex offence and possessing extreme pornography of children.

Man Arrested In Connection With Banbridge Shooting
A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Banbridge on Friday 12 April. Detectives investigating the shooting incident carried out a search of two properties in the Mullaghbawn and Banbridge areas on Wednesday, 17 April.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Newcastle Alert Declared A Hoax
A security alert in Newcastle, Co Down, has been declared a hoax. On Wednesday, a suspicious object was discovered close to an Orange Hall in the Shimna Road area of the town. Police and Army bomb experts were called to the scene to investigate while nearby roads were closed overnight.
