Man remanded over bus murder
A man has appeared in court, accused of the murder of a man on a London bus.
Anthony Leon Joseph, 20, from Islington, north London, appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court, charged with the murder of twenty-eight-year-old Richard Whelan.
Mr Whelan, from Kentish Town, north London, was stabbed on the Number 43 bus in Islington on July 29, after confronting another passenger who was throwing chips at his girlfriend. He collapsed from his injuries on the lower level of the bus, after following his attacker downstairs. He was taken to Whittingdon Hosptial, where he later died.
At Monday’s hearing, Mr Joseph was remanded in custody, to appear at the Old Bailey on November 14.

London Bus Drivers Postpone Strike Action
Planned strike action by London bus drivers has been postponed as an "act of goodwill". The strike action was due to take place on Friday and Monday, with drivers walking out across the city's 18 bus companies. Unite the union has called on the bus companies to accept an invitation for talks.

Levi Bellfield has been found guilty of the murders of two women in the trial dubbed the 'Bus Stalker' killings. Bellfield was found guilty of the murders of Amelie Delagrange, 22, in August 2004 and Marsha McDonnell, 19, in February 2003, following nearly six days of deliberation by the jury at the Old Bailey.

Man Dies After London Bus Collide
A man has died and another 13 victims have been injured in a crash involving a car and a double-decker bus in Clapton, east London at about 02:20 this morning. The man, who was travelling in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene while another three men who were in the vehicle have been taken to hospital.
