Man in court over London axe murder
A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of another man in London on Monday.
Joseph Sheehan, a 37-year-old waiter, appeared before Highbury Corner magistrates, charged with the murder of 67-year-old Brian Messitt.
The body of Mr Messitt was found in Eton Avenue, Swiss Cottage, London, shortly after 9:30am on Monday morning. A post-mortem confirmed that he died from severe head injuries.
Mr Sheehan, of Belmont Street in Camden, was remanded in custody, to appear before the Old Bailey on March 23.

Man Charged Over East London Murder
A 48-year-old man has been charged with the murder of woman in east London. Police say that the man has been charged with stabbing to death 26-year-old Leighann Duffy. Ms Duffy was found at a house in Hatherley Road in Walthamstow suffering stab wounds to her arm and neck. She died two days later in hospital.

Fourth man charged with Mary-Ann murder
A fourth man has been charged with the murder of Reading teenager Mary-Ann Leneghan, Thames Valley Police have confirmed. Llewellyn Olemide Adams, 23, was charged with the murder of the 16-year-old this afternoon. Earlier today, two men appeared in court charged with Mary-Ann's murder.

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of 51-year-old mother-of-two Laila Rezk. Lloyd Edwards, 18, from Roehampton, southwest London was remanded in custody Kingston Magistrates' Court on Thursday. He is next due to appear at the Old Bailey on March 19.

Murder Investigation Launches After Man Is Shot Dead In London
Detectives have launched a murder investigation after a 38-year-old man was shot dead in London on Tuesday evening. The London Ambulance Service called the poise to Vine Lane at around 7pm. The victim was found with gunshot wounds, however he was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 8pm.
