Police appeal for help in combating Waterworks crime

Police have appealed for parent's help in their fight against crime by youths in the Waterworks area of north Belfast.

Hundreds of leaflets are set to be delivered to the Westland, Glandore and 'Little America' areas to outline ways in which crime can be combated in the area.

It follows the release of figures which showed that 132 incidents of crime have been recorded in the area during the last six months.

Police said the leaflet delivery had already been backed up by a stronger police presence in and around the vicinity of the Waterworks.
