Robbers target Ballynahinch supermarket

Detectives in Dowpatrick have appealed for information following the robbery of a supermarket in Ballynahinch last night.

Two men, one of whom is believed to have had a knife, entered the store in Windmill Lane at around 9pm on Thursday.

One of the men approached a male member of staff and ordered him into an office. He then pushed a female member of staff towards a table before lifting a sum of money.

As the two men escaped they took a second sum of cash from a till before making their way towards a red Ford Escort which headed off in the direction of Crossgar Road.

Neither member of staff where injured in the incident however both were left in a state of shock.

One of the thieves is described as being about 25-years-old, 6ft, of medium build. He was wearing a black hooded top, which had an open pouch, dark jeans and trainers.

Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in Windmill Lane at the time of the incident is asked to contact police immediately.

Off-Licence Robbed By Men Armed With Hammers
Licensed premises in east Belfast has been robbed by two armed men with hammers. The incident happened at around 9.15pm last night at Russell's Cellars on the Castlereagh Road. The men threatened a female member of staff and made off on foot with a sum of money. Police confirmed the woman was not injured.

Arrests Made At Traffic Collision Following L'Derry Burglary
Police responding to a road traffic collision in L'Derry last night, Wednesday 20 March, arrested two men in connection with an earlier burglary in the area. At 23:55 last night, police received a report of a collision on Gortinure Road involving a black Audi TT. The vehicle was found abandoned in a ditch.
