UK Aid Worker Kidnapped
Security officials have reported that a UK aid worker and three local staff have been kidnapped in Afghanistan.
Their vehicles were stopped by armed men, in the eastern province of Kunar on Sunday.
The woman is thought to be a former UN worker currently employed by US aid group DAI. She is yet to be identified.
A spokeswoman for the Foreign Office confirmed the UK citizen was missing and added: "We are working closely with all the relevant local authorities. We are also in touch with the family and are providing consular assistance."
The US military is thought to be involved in the search along with tribal elders in the area.
Various armed groups operating in the area are not thought to be under government control.
Afghans and foreigners can be targeted by gangs seeking ransom money, but they are sometimes sold on to militant groups.
No-one has admitted carrying out the abduction.

George Awarded Damages Over 'Obsession'
The man cleared of murdering TV presenter Jill Dando after spending seven years in jail has won damages over newspaper claims. Barry George brought the case over claims that he was obsessed with singer Cheryl Cole and newsreader Kay Burley. The claims were made in the Sunday Mirror, the People and on the Daily Mirror website in 2008.

A British charity worker has been gunned down in the Afghan capital - in an assassination reportedly carried out by the Taliban. Gayle Williams, who worked for Christian charity Serve Afghanistan, was shot dead close to Kabul University.

300 More UK Officers Sent To Belfast
Some 300 mutual aid officers from UK police forces are to be sent to Belfast following a fifth night of rioting in the city. Trouble began on last Friday after an Orange Order parade was stopped from returning along part of the Crumlin Road in north Belfast.
