Derry 'Attack Dogs' To Pay Price
A child attacked by two dogs outside her home has received hospital treatment for injuries
The nine-year-old girl was set-on by two pit bull type dogs in the Waterside area of Londonderry.
Danielle McAllister suffered bite injuries to her arm following the attack at 4.30pm on Monday afternoon in the driveway of her house at Gelvin Gardens. She was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital for treatment and the dog warden informed, with it now emerging that the owners of two animals are "distraught about what happened".
BBC NI has this afternoon reported that Craig Watson, whose 17-year-old stepson owns the dogs, said they escaped from the backyard where they were kept, and ran away.
He now says that the dogs are to be put down.

Yellow Weather Warning Issued For Parts Of NI
A yellow weather warning for wind has been issued by the Met Office for parts of Northern Ireland on Wednesday, 31 January. The weather warning comes into effect at 9.00 am and is due to remain in place until 5.00 pm with warnings that it could impact travel, cause power outages and lead to large waves in coastal areas.

PSNI Investigate Fatal Collision On Cornascriebe Road
The PSNI have launched an investigation into the cause of a fatal collision on the Cornascriebe Road, between Tandragee and Hamiltonsbawn, on Tuesday 13th February. Police received a report shortly after 2.30pm of a collision involving a car and a tractor.

In the past three years search dogs have sniffed out significant finds of cannabis and cocaine, pregablin capsules and other illicit substances stashed by prisoners at Maghaberry, Magilligan and Hydebank Wood Secure College and Women's Prison.
