Appeal For Taxi Driver Over Essex Rape
Police in Essex are appealing for a taxi driver who may have vital information about a rape in Braintree to come forward. The woman, who is in her twenties, was raped in the early hours of August 28. A 28-year-old man was arrested later that day and has been bailed until October 20, while enquiries continue. Police are trying to trace a taxi driver who picked up a man and a woman from outside Braintree Town Hall between 2am and 3am and took them to the Bocking Churchstreet area. The taxi driver is described as an older man, who was driving a dark blue or silver estate car. The driver, or anyone who recognises him, is asked to contact police on: 0300 333 4444.
Three Boys Held Over Field Fire
Three boys have been arrested on suspicion of arson, following a fire in Carlton-in-Lindrick, Nottinghamshire on Monday. Police and fire crews were called to a blaze at Boot Hill, near Rotherham Baulk around 6pm on Monday and the blaze was brought under control by around 7pm. Police said that it was the second incident in two days at the location, following another fire on Sunday evening. Two 15-year-olds and a 14-year-old were arrested nearby and questioned about both incidents. All three have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Police in Blackpool have appealed for information about a 55-year-old man who went missing last week. John Wigham, of St Stephen's Avenue, was last seen at his home around 6am on September 2. He is described as white, of medium build, around 6ft 2 ins tall, with short, grey shaven hair. It is believed that he may be in the Preston area. Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on: 0845 1 25 35 45.

British Man Dies In Dubai Police Custody
A British man has died in police custody in Dubai. Lee Bradley Brown, 39, from east London, died on Tuesday after he was taken to a Dubai police station where he was allegedly assaulted and put into a cell. It has been reported that Mr Brown, was arrested over a row at the luxury hotel Burj Al Arab hotel.

Man Arrested Over Kent Doctor's Murder
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a doctor in Kent. Consultant paediatrician Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, was found in her car in the driveway of her home in Dartford on August 14. She had been stabbed to death. Kent Police said that the man was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Dartford.

Police investigating the disappearance of Becky Godden on December 2002, have arrested a 51-year-old man on suspicion of murder. Ms Godden was aged 20 when she disappeared in Swindon on 27 December. Her remains were found in 2011 on farmland in Gloucestershire.

Police investigating a sexual assault in Somerset, during which a mother and child were tied up and held at knifepoint, have arrested a 59-year-old man. Police arrested the man on suspicion of aggravated burglary and sexual assault, in connection with the incident in Sydenham, Bridgewater on 21 January.

A murder investigation has been launched following the discovery of a woman's body in a Hull hotel room. Police said they were called to the Ibis hotel on Osborne Street at 13:00 on Sunday, where they discovered the body of a woman. She is yet t be identified.
