Children Being 'Pressured To Sell Drugs'

Drug dealers are targeting children as young as 11 in West Belfast, claims a Sinn Fein councillor.

Speaking at a rally in Poleglass on Wednesday night Arthur Carson said children are being pressured into selling drugs.

"Drugs has been a big issue for a number of years but in the recent past there have been a significant number of drugs finds in the area that has raised concern," Mr Carson said.

"There have also been a number of young people who have came to us who are being put under pressure by drug dealers to deal drugs for them."

The PSNI said they are "working hard" to take the drugs off the streets. Anyone found with them will have them confiscated. An action plan is being worked on between the police and people from the Lisburn and Dunmurry area.
