'Magic Jug' Plans Abandoned
The Department of Social Development has been forced to abort plans on Belfast's £100,000 'Magic Jug' public art sculpture.
It is believed the plans have been abandoned because of budget constraints, however it is understood £20,000 has already been spent on the scheme.
The sculpture, was commissioned by Social Development Minister Margaret Ritchie last year, and would have been located on Fountain Street.
However, Ms Ritchie's successor Mr Alex Attwood, said urban regeneration projects would suffer because of budget cuts.
The art piece would have been 550cm in height and was a polished granite jug with a triskelion rising from it and a Kingfisher at the top.
