Man Bailed Over Teen Car Lake Deaths

A 21-year-old man who was arrested following the deaths of two teenagers in a car lake plunge on Tuesday has been released on bail.

It is understood that he is being treated in hospital.

Anwen Busby, 16, and Jai Burkes, 19, were killed when the car they were travelling in plunged down an embankment off the A44 in Ceredigion in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Two other 16-year-old girls - named in reports as Charlotte Tourle and Amy Valentine - were both cut free from the wreckage and were taken to Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth for treatment.

The driver also managed to free himself from the wreckage.

Police said that no other vehicles were involved.

Spanish Car Crash Kills British Twins
Nine-year-old twin girls from London have been killed in car crash while on a family holiday in Spain. Paria Najmi was killed instantly when her parents' car overturned and rolled several times on a motorway in the Navarra province in northern Spain on Wednesday. Her sister Galia was critically injured in the crash and died later in hospital.

'Unexplained Death' At Hospital Investigated
Surrey Police has confirmed it is at the scene of East Surrey Hospital following the "unexplained death" of a man at the premises. Officers were called to the hospital on Canada Avenue, Redhill, just before 5pm on Tuesday (25 August). A man, aged in his 70s, was found to have collapsed in the car park.

Police continue to hold suspects over failed car bombings
Police are continuing to question six suspects in the UK, held in connection with the failed car bombings in London and Glasgow. Meanwhile it has emerged that some of the suspects were known to MI5 before the attacks took place. However, according to reports, the known suspects were regarded as low priority.

Couple Killed In Car Cliff Plunge
A man and a woman have been killed after their car plunged 100 metres over a cliff on the Isle of Wight. Police were called to Culver Down, near Bembridge, around 8pm on Wednesday following reports of a crash. Emergency services retrieved two bodies from a blue car, which was found at the bottom of the cliffs.
