Man Critical After Shooting In South Dublin

A 33-year-old man is in a critical conditional in hospital following an incident involving the alleged false imprisonment of a woman in Dublin.

According to garda, a man is believed to have dragged a woman into a car in the Ringsend area of Dublin.

It is understood the man then drove around south Dublin for a while before stopping at a petrol station in Templeogue.

At the petrol station the woman is believed to have alerted two uniformed garda officers.

When confronted by the officers the man is said to have driven off at speed, with garda pursing.

Following a chase the suspect lost control of the car and crashed at the Spawell roundabout.

According to a report by the Irish Times, when the officers approached him the man produced a gun. Two shots were reportedly fired, one of which is believed to have hit the man in the head.

He is said to be in a critical condition in Tallaght Hospital.

Garda have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.

The incident has been reported to the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission, who have launched an investigation.

Woman Dies After Being Hit By Car In Dublin
An elderly woman who was hit by a car in Dublin has died in hospital. The incident occurred on the Navan Road at around 8.15am on Sunday, 04 September. The driver of the car was arrested and taken to Finglas Garda Station. He has been released and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Missing Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A missing 24-year-old man has been found "safe and well". Alex Sherwin had been reported missing on Sunday, with garda issuing a public appeal for assistance. No information on Mr Sherwin's whereabouts have been released, but garda said the investigation had now ended. They thanked the public for their help.

Gardaí are appealing for help in tracing missing Dublin man Greg Ward. Mr Ward, 31, was last seen in Blanchardstown on Sunday 3 May. He is described as being 6'2" in height and has a vast amount of tattoos and piercings over his body. Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Teen Arrested Following Firearm Seizure
A 19-year-old man has been arrested by gardaí following the seizure of a firearm in Tallaght, Dublin. He was arrested on the Jobstown Road at approximately 12.40am on Tuesday morning. Gardaí were alerted after a man was seen holding a weapon. The male was chased on foot and gardaí disarmed and arrested him.

Man Arrested And Firearm Seized
A firearm has been seized and a man arrested in Crumlin, Dublin. According to gardaí, they were investigating reports of criminal damage at Rutland Grove when they witnessed a row break out between a number of men. The firearm was seized from one of the men involved in the row and he was subsequently arrested.
