Child In Serious Condition After Hit-And-Run

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a hit-and-run incident in Dublin that has left a six-year-old girl in a serious condition in hospital.

It is understood that the child was hit by a dark coloured van at around 19:20 at a pedestrian crossing on the Malahide Road in Coolock.

Gardaí say that the van, which was possibly green, failed to stop and made off towards the city.

The child is being treated at Temple Street Children's Hospital.

Anyone who witnessed the hit-and-run, or may have seen the van, are asked to contact Coolock Garda Station on 01 6664200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

Gardaí have foiled an attempted cash-in-transit van robbery in Clondalkin, west Dublin. According to garda at around 11:20am two men approached a guard from the van as he made a delivery at the Bawnogue Shopping Centre, threatening him with a firearm.
