Six Rescued From Dublin City Centre House Fire

Four adults and two children are being treated in hospital for the effects of smoke inhalation following a fire at a house in Dublin city centre.

Dublin Fire Service (DFS) said it was called to a fire at a house in Gloucester Place, off Sean McDermott Street, at about 05:00 on Tuesday morning.

According to a report by RTÉ, a baby was thrown from a window of the burning house, and caught by a neighbour standing in the street.

The adults rescued from the fire are being treated at the Mater Hospital and the children are at Temple Street Hospital.

DFS has said its fire crews remain at the scene and an investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.

Woman Dies In Limerick House Fire
A woman has died in a house fire in Limerick. The fire broke out at the house in Daly Avenue at around midnight. The woman, aged 47, was the only person in the property. She was taken to University Hospital Limerick where she was pronounced dead. Gardai are not treating the incident as suspicious.

Dublin Fire Brigade has revealed it responded to 1,100 emergency calls during Halloween night. On what is normally the service's busiest night of the year, there were also reports of attacks on fire crews while Dublin Bus was forced to withdraw its service in part of the city.

Man Dies And Woman Critical Following House Fire
A man has died in a house fire in Dublin. It is understood he was 53 years old. An elderly woman is in a critical condition at Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown. The fire broke out at a house on Sigurd Street in Stoneybatter. Emergency services attended the incident. The scene has been sealed off pending a technical examination.
