Warning Issued After Woman's Drink Spiked In City Centre Pub

A warning has been issued for people to be aware of their drinks on nights out, after a woman's drink was allegedly spiked in a city centre pub.

It is understood the woman noticed two partially dissolved tablets in a shot glass she had just drank from. After making it home and being sick, the woman contacted garda.

Incidents of drinks being spiked is said to be rare in Ireland, but garda are warning people to be cautious while on nights out in the run up to Christmas.

Irish Woman Dies From Spiked Indonesian Cocktail
An Irish woman has died in Indonesia after drinking contaminated alcohol, part of a 'rogue' batch, in Indonesia. The death brings the total number killed by the lethal batch of Indonesian palm wine 'Arack' to 23. Ms Craig, 25, from Drogheda, Co Louth, died along with her Dutch partner while holidaying on an islet off the island of Lombok.

Woman Dies After Being Hit By Car In Dublin
An elderly woman who was hit by a car in Dublin has died in hospital. The incident occurred on the Navan Road at around 8.15am on Sunday, 04 September. The driver of the car was arrested and taken to Finglas Garda Station. He has been released and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
