Gardaí Find Cannabis In Car

Cannabis herb worth around €100,000 has been discovered in a car by gardaí.

Officers stopped the vehicle at Davin Gardens in the Caherdavin area of Limerick on Thursday night.

A man, 54, and woman, 40, were arrested and detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

They are being held at Mayorstone Garda Station and Roxboro Garda Station, respectively.

The Script Announce Croke Park Gig

The Script have confirmed they are to headline a concert in Croke Park next year.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that a "big announcement" was coming for the venue, leading many to start speculating as to who it might be, from Garth Brooks, to Take That, U2 and AC/DC.

On Friday morning, it was finally revealed at a press call that the Dublin-based band will perform a concert on 20 June 2015.

The group have performed at the stadium before; in 2009 they were the support act for both Take That and U2 during their Irish run of concerts.

For this concert however, The Script will be supported by Pharrell Williams.

Gardaí Renew Appeal Over Dublin Shooting

Gardaí have renewed their appeal for information in relation to a fatal shooting in Dublin last weekend.

On Sunday night (26 October), 33-year-old Kieran Farrelly was shot dead at Killarney Court in the city centre.

A man and two women were questioned by gardaí about the shooting, and were later released, with a file being prepared for the DPP. As part of their appeal for information though, gardaí want to speak to anyone who may have been in the Killarney Court, Empress Place area that night.

They especially want to speak to anyone who may have noticed a group of people in the area, or a disturbance.

Support To The Tune Of €60,000 For National Concert Hall
The Community Foundation for Ireland have committed a spend of €60,000 in support of the National Concert Hall’s three year music programme. Entitled ‘Kid’s Classics’, the programme will run in three Children’s Hospitals in Dublin.

New Searches Underway In Drogheda In Mulready-Woods Investigation
Gardaí investigating the murder of Keane Mulready-Woods(17) are carrying out further searches in Drogheda. According to reports, a search is underway at Oldbridge, with the surrounding area sealed and the road closed. It follows searches carried out earlier this week in the Rathmullen Park area of the town.

Skeletal Remains Found At Wicklow Recycling Plant
An investigation was launched yesterday after a skull and bones were uncovered at a recycling plant in Bray, County Wicklow. The human remains are believed to have been "medical specimens" used for the training of medical professionals.
