Apple Show How To Remove Free U2 Album

Apple has launched a website giving instructions on how iTunes customers can remove the free U2 album, Songs of Innocence from their accounts.

The company used U2 during the launch of their new iPhone and iWatch, with the groups new album appearing automatically downloading into people iTunes.

However, with increasing complaints the company has now provided instructions on how to remove the album, warning that once it was removed, it could not be downloaded for free a second time.

Ancient Bog Body Found On Meath/Westmeath Border

A Bord na Móna worker has uncovered an ancient bog body at Rossan Bog on the Meath/Westmeath border, the same site that another bog body was found two years ago.

It is understood that the find was made before any work began and the National Museum of Ireland has been informed. A team from the museum is now investigating the find.

Dates For By-elections Expected To Be Announced

Friday 10 October is expected to be announced as the day for two pending Dáil by-elections.

According to a report by the Irish Times, Dublin South West and Roscommon South- Leitrim are expected to held alongside the Seanad byelection.

The Dáil by-elections are to fill the seats vacated by Fine Gael’s Brian Hayes and Luke Ming Flanagan, who were elected to the European Parliament earlier this year.

The Seanad by-election is to fill the seat which was vacated by Deirdre Clune, who was also elected to the European Parliament.

Tesco To Remove Sweets From Checkouts
A major supermarket chain has announced that it will remove sweets from its checkouts. Tesco has said that is making the change to help customers make heathier food choices, and will remove confectionery from the checkouts across all of its 146 Irish stores by the end of the year.

Good Weather Sees 80% Of Turf Harvest Already Collected
The good weather has helped Bord na Móna harvest 80% of its target turf yield for the year. It is in contrast to last year, when jobs were at risk following a poor harvest. This years harvest is said to have restored stability for some 2,000 workers.

Gardai Launch Murder Enquiry After Body Is Found In Co Offaly
Gardai investigating the discovery of the body of Christy Daly, 47, in a drain in County Offaly, on 7 January 2014 have upgraded their investigation to a murder enquiry. The body was discovered at Bog Road, Killbride, Clara. A post-mortem has now been carried out and Gardai will not be making the results public for operational reasons.
