KCC Aand Gardaí Remove Bridge Protest Camp
Protesters maintaining a 24-hour demonstration against a bridge being constructed in Kilkenny city have been cleared by gardaí and Kilkenny County Council.
The council said that action to remove the protesters was needed as they had refused to leave the camp despite repeated requests.
The protesters have been demonstrating against the construction of the bridge saying that it will damage Kilkenny's medieval heritage.
The council said the bridge is necessary for the economic development of the city.

'Plan Ahead' For St Patrick's Day Events This Weekend
Belfast City Council has outlined traffic and travel arrangements ahead of this Sunday's St Patrick's Day event in Belfast. A number of traffic diversions will be in place in and around Belfast city centre. Visitors and participants are advised to plan their journey in advance and leave extra time to travel to and from the city centre.

Longford County Council Announces Road Closures
Longford County Council has announced temporary road closures between Edgeworthstone and Granard between 24 August and 04 September, 2015. The closure is to allow bridge replacement works on the N55 at Ardagullion and Cartron. Diversions will be signposted and local access will be maintained at all times, the council said.
