Body Of Baby Found In Bin

The body of a newborn baby has been found in a bin in Co Cork.

The discovery was made at a property in the city on Thursday after the baby's mother presented herself to gardaí, it has been reported.

The body was taken to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem will be carried out.

Gardaí have said they are treating the death as a tragic incident.

Gardai have launched an investigation after a body was discovered in Bundoran, Co Donegal, this morning (25 April). The body, believed to be a man aged in his 60's or 70's, was found near the shore in the West End of the town. It is believed the body remains at the scene.

Man And Woman Arrested In Connection With Child's Death Last Year
Two people have been arrested in connection with the death of a 10-week-old baby girl in Co Longford in June last year. The child, named as Doriana Kluska, from Cloondara in Longford, died in Temple Street Hospital on 04 June 2017. A man, aged in his 30s, was arrested in Naas. At the same time a woman, aged in her 20s, was arrested in Dublin.

'Significant Quantities' Of Human Remains Uncovered In Tuam
"Significant quantities" of human remains have been discovered in a large underground structure at the former mother-and-baby home in Tuam, Co Galway. Surveys of the site were carried out the Mother And Baby Homes Commission of Investigation in October 2015, identifying two underground anomalies worthy of further investigation.
