Pollution Incident In River Tolka
Dublin City Council has become aware of a pollution incident in the River Tolka on Tuesday, it said.
Personnel from the council’s Drainage Services Division attended the scene and confirmed a foam-like substance was in the river.
Samples have been taken for analysis and investigations are on-going.
The Council said it placed a boom wall barrier across the river at Griffith Park to prevent the foam spreading downstream.
There has been an extensive fish kill in the river, Dublin City Council said, potentially as a result of the substance.
TDs Released From Custody
Independent TDs Mick Wallace and Clare Daly have been released from garda custody, following their arrest at Shannon Airport on Tuesday.
The pair were detained by airport police at about 12:20 and then handed over to gardaí.
They were detained on suspicion of trespass and interfering with aircraft.
Girls Rescued From Sandymount Strand
Three teenage girls have been rescued by gardaí and the coastguard after getting lost in fog on Sandymount Strand.
The girls were out walking when a heavy fog made them lose their way. They were then cut off by the incoming tide.
One of the girls called for help on her mobile phone.
Gardaí and the Dún Laoghaire Coast Guard Unit undertook a search from the shore and an inshore lifeboat was deployed, which then rescued the girls.
Ireland Ratifies Maritime Labour Convention
Ireland has officially ratified the Maritime Labour Convention, which sets standards for working and living conditions for seafarers.
Transport Minister Paschal Donohoe TD and Jobs Minister Richard Bruton made the announcement.
From 21 July 2015, Ireland will be a party to the Convention and will implement the requirements or Irish-flagged ships and for international ships calling at Irish ports.

River Water Quality Is Deteriorating - EPA
River water quality is deteriorating, according to findings from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The EPA has published the Water Quality in Ireland Report for the period 2013-2018. 92% of groundwater bodies, 80% of coastal waters, 53% of rivers, 50% of lakes and 38% of estuaries were found to be of satisfactory quality.

Fisherman's Body Identified
The body of a fisherman, found off the south Co Wexford coast, has been identified. John Ennis went missing 31 days ago after the boat he was in sank 45 metres from shore between Duncannon and Arthurstown.

Woman Rescued From River Liffey
A woman is in a serious condition in hospital after she was rescued by emergency services from the River Liffey in Dublin. She is understood to have entered the water at O'Connell Bridge and rescued at around 8.45pm last night. A passerby also entered the water to rescue her, however they were not injured.
