Itron Announces 40 Jobs For County Cork

40 jobs are to be created through the establishment of a Global Business Services centre in County Cork by technology and services company Itron.

The company is hiring for the new facility in City Gate Park in Mahon. Open positions will include accounting, financial controls and financial administration.

Jobs Minister Richard Bruton said: "This announcement that with the support of my Department through IDA Ireland that Itron Inc. is establishing a Global Business Services Centre in Cork which will create up to 40 jobs is a very welcome announcement for the region. I am delighted that following an extensive search they have deemed Cork to be the most suitable location for their business. I wish Itron Inc. and their employees every success in the future."

"After conducting an extensive search to find the best location for our new GBS centre, our project team determined that Ireland best suited our criteria and is the right fit for our company," said Steve Helmbrecht, Itron’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

"I am delighted that Itron has chosen Cork as the location for its Global Business Services centre. I believe the decision is reflective of the quality and experience of the Irish workforce, particularly in the shared services industry," said Chantelle Landers, Itron’s Director of Global Business Services.
