Coast Guard Issues Fog Warning

The Coast Guard has advised people to stay away from coastal areas where there is sea fog present.

The warning comes after two incidents occurred in Dublin on Tuesday.

At Sandymount Beach in Dublin, three teenage girls had to be rescued after they because lost in fog. As visibility fell to around 100 metres and the incoming tide approached, the girls found themselves surrounded by water and they became disorientated. They managed to call for help and Dun Laoghaire lifeboat located them safely.

In a separate incident, a woman had to be taken to hospital after falling on rocks at Bullock Harbour, near Dalkey. It is understood she broke her leg in the incident.
