Two Held Over Heroin 'Flower' Haul
The police have arrested two men and seized a large quantity of heroin that was hidden in a lorry load of flowers.
The arrests followed an operation at Dublin Port yesterday.
Uniformed gardaí swooped on Tuesday in an operation involving the Gardaí National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Gardaí National Drugs Unit, and officers from Revenue's Customs.
The men, who are both Dutch nationals - one aged 55 and the other aged 39 - were arrested during shortly after 9.30 pm They are being detained under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act at Store Street Gardaí Station.
They may be held for up to seven days.
The haul saw around 30kgs of heroin being seized when two trucks were stopped and searched in the planned operation.
The heroin was concealed in a consignment of flowers.
The drugs subject to analysis may have a street value of €6 million.

Heroin with an estimated street value of €650,000 has been seized and three men arrested by gardaí in Co Dublin. Gardaí have said that following an intelligence-led operation three men, aged in their 30s, were stopped and searched on Crumlin Road, Dublin 12 on Wednesday at around 18:30. The men were subsequently arrested.

Gardaí investigating the murder of a man outside a motorcycle club in Limerick, have been granted more time to question three men. A special sitting of Limerick District Court granted garda more time to question a 27-year-old man and two me aged in their 40s, arrested on Saturday in connection with the murder.
