One Dead Following Sunday Night Assault
One man is dead, and another recovering in hostpital following an assault last night in Galway.
Gardai at Glenamaddy are investigating the incident, which occurred at The Square, Glemamady, Co Galway at approximately 1.30am this morning.
Three men were involved in the assault, which led to two of the men, a 20-year old & a 30-year-old, being admitted to Roscommon County Hospital.
Gardai believe the man was stabbed during the incident, and was pronounced dead within an hour of arriving at hospital.
The 20-year-old man was pronounced dead at Roscommon County Hospital at around 2.30am.
A 45 year old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently detained at Tuam Garda Station.
The area has now been sealed off while a full forensic examination takes place.

A man has died in a crash in Co Limerick. The car veered off the road and hit a ditch at Dromsallagh at around 4.15am on Sunday, 05 June. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. A second man is currently being treated for his injuries at the University Hospital Limerick. The road has been re-opened.

Gardai have launched an investigation following a suspicious fire at a house in Rhode, Co. Offaly on Monday. The incident occurred between 11.30pm on Sunday and 1.50am on Monday. A 24-year-old man sustained serious injuries and has been transferred to St James Hospital where his condition is described as critical.

The body of a man in his 70s has been discovered in a car, which was concealed by trees, at a roundabout in Galway. The vehicle was seen by a member of the public on the Martin Roundabout on Thursday, 05 November. Gardai attended the scene where he was declared dead.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
