Alleged Sex Boss Held

The gardaí in north Cork have arrested a man as part of an investigation into organised prostitution.

The 51-year-old was detained by detectives from the Criminal Assets Bureau at around 7.30am on Thursday morning, during a raid carried out as part of an on-going investigation, dubbed Operation Boulder.

He is understood to be a major player' in the sex industry in Ireland.

The man has been taken to Bridewell garda station in Cork in for questioning.

A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.

A west Cork man reported missing on Monday night has been found "safe and well". Bantry Gardaí launched a search operation, assisted by the Coast Guard Helicopter and local coast guard units.

Manhunt After Two Stabbed In Cork
Gardaí have launched a manhunt after two people were stabbed at Cork University Hospital. According to reports, it is thought the two men got into a fight with a third man on the ground of the hospital earlier today (23 October). The victims are receiving treatment at the scene, but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Anthony Ward Died From Asphyxia
Preliminary results of a post mortem examination on the body of eight-year-old Anthony Ward revealed he died from asphyxia. He was found dead in the bedroom of his home at Harrison Place in Charleville, Cork, yesterday morning. Gardai do not believe he died of natural causes and are continuing their examination of the house where he was found.
