Garda Ombudsman Seeks Witnesses To Road Crash

The Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission has made a new appeal for witnesses to a road crash in which a 77-year-old woman died on Friday.

Clare Barr, from the Navan Road in Dublin, died after she was struck by a car on the Dublin-bound carriageway of the Navan Road, Dublin 7, around 2pm on Friday.

The car involved was being driven by an off-duty garda.

Woman Dies After Being Hit By Car In Dublin
An elderly woman who was hit by a car in Dublin has died in hospital. The incident occurred on the Navan Road at around 8.15am on Sunday, 04 September. The driver of the car was arrested and taken to Finglas Garda Station. He has been released and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Man Dies In Overnight Road Crash
A man has died when his car collided with a van on the Rathbeale road in Swords, Dublin, around 02.30am on Wednesday morning. The man in his 40s was a passenger in the van. He died at the scene. The driver of the van and a second passenger are being treated in hospital. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Gardaí Hunt For Two Missing Females
Separate searches have been announced in connection with the disappearance of two females in the past week. In the latest disappearance, Gardaí at Sundrive Road, Dublin, said they are seeking the public’s assistance in tracing the whereabouts of 62-year-old Pauline Behan from Rafters Road, Dublin. Pauline was last seen at 4pm on Monday.

Man Killed After Motorcycle Collides With Cow
A 28-year-old man has died after his motorcycle collided with a cow on the Navan to Athboy Road in Co Meath. The fatal collision occurred at about 10.15pm on Monday night. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out at Navan Hospital.
