Garda Search For Gang Following Armed Robbery Of Post Office

Gardaí are searching for a gang of men in connection with an armed robbery of a Post Office in Athboy, Co Meath.

It is understood that three or four men dressed in black, and one armed with an axe, entered the Post Office and threatened staff, demanding money. The gang fled the scene with a sum of cash.

According to reports a member of staff was injured during the incident and was treated at the scene by ambulance staff.

A car was found burnt out on the M3 a short time later, which garda believe was used in the robbery.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact gardaí.

Three Released Following Post Office Robbery
Three men arrested in connection of a post office robbery in Roscommon have been released without charge. Two masked men, one believed to be armed, entered the premises at around 9.30am on Tuesday in Strokestown. They threatened staff and made off with an undisclosed sum of cash. Four people have been arrested in connection with a post office robbery in Clogherhead, Co Louth, in May. Three men, aged 30, 33 and 42, and a woman aged 23, were arrested in the Louth area this morning (Monday), in connection with the robbery on Tuesday, 03 May, 2016.

Garda Seek Four Men Over Armed Post Office Robbery
Gardaí are seeking four men in connection with an armed robbery of a post office in County Kerry. Two men, one carrying a pistol and the other a baseball bat, entered the Tarbet Post Office at about 16:00 on Tuesday and threatened staff while a third man stood blocking the door. There were no customers in the post office at the time.

Gardaí Appeal For Information After Armed Post Office Robbery
Gardaí have launched an investigation following an armed robbery at Dún Laoghaire post office in Dublin this morning. Two men entered the post office, armed with what is believed to have been handguns, around 10.25am. They threatened staff before making off with an undisclosed amount of money.
