Man Found With Serious Head Injuries In Navan

Gardai are appealing for witnesses following the discovery of an injured man in Navan.

The 25-year-old male was found with a serious head injury at 2.22am on Metges Lane on Wednesday, 01 November.

He was taken to Drogheda Hospital by ambulance and was subsequently transferred to Beumount Hospital, where he is described as being in a serious condition.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information, or for witnesses who may have been in the Watergate Street / Medges Lane area of Navan between 1.45am and 2.30am on Wednesday, to contact them at Navan Garda Station on 046 9036100, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Meath Truck Kills 63-Year-Old
A 63-year-old man has been pronounced dead on arrival at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan after a road accident on Wednesday morning. He died after he was struck by a truck at Millbrook, Oldcastle, Co Meath at 7.30am. Gardaí at Kells Garda Station have appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone who was in the area between 7am and 7.

Man Dies In Navan Garda Station
An investigation has been launched into the death of a man at Navan Garda Station in Co Meath on Thursday night. The 52-year-old, who was arrested yesterday for a public order offence, was found lying on the floor of a cell shortly after 10pm. The man was said to have been in an intoxicated state taken into custody for public order reasons.

Woman Dies After Being Hit By Car In Dublin
An elderly woman who was hit by a car in Dublin has died in hospital. The incident occurred on the Navan Road at around 8.15am on Sunday, 04 September. The driver of the car was arrested and taken to Finglas Garda Station. He has been released and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Man, 63, Dies After Meath Assault
A 63-year-old man has died in hospital after an assault in County Meath over the weekend. A postmortem is due to be carried out today on the body of the man who is understood to be a bachelor from Athlone. He passed away yesterday afternoon at Beaumont Hospital. He was found unconscious by a taxi driver at around 12.

Hunt For Woman Missing In Meath
A hunt has been launched to find a woman missing from her home in Meath. Margaret Mawhinney, 53, has gone missing from her home at Trim Road in Navan, Co. Meath. She is originally from Co Armagh. A spoesman for Gardaí said Margaret's family are very concerned for her safety.
