Woman's Body Lay Undiscovered In Hospital Toilet For 'Up To 10 Hours'

An investigation has been launched after it was revealed that the body of woman lay undiscovered in a disabled toilet at University Hospital Galway for up to 10 hours.

According to reports the body of a Polish woman was found in a public disabled toilet at the hospitals Emergency Department over the August Bank Holiday weekend. It is believed that the body may have lay undiscovered for up to 10 hours.

However, it is understood that the woman was not a patient of the hospital or the emergency department and staff were unaware that she had entered the building or the toilet.

Questioning how the body could undiscovered for so long, Labour Councillor and member of the HSE West Regional Health Forum, Niall McNelis has said that he has asked the hospital how this happened "over such a long period of time".

Woman's Body Found In The Sea Off Cliffs Of Moher
An investigation has been launched following the discovery of a woman's body in the water off Co Clare. The woman's body was recovered from the sea off the Cliffs of Moher at about 5pm on Thursday 04 October. A post-mortem is due to be carried out at University Hospital Limerick, which gardaí have said will inform the course of their investigation.

Body Found In Co Donegal
Gardai have launched an investigation after a body was discovered in Bundoran, Co Donegal, this morning (25 April). The body, believed to be a man aged in his 60's or 70's, was found near the shore in the West End of the town. It is believed the body remains at the scene.
