Investigation Launched Into Stabbing Death Of Three-Year-Old Boy

An investigation has been launched into the death of a three-year-old boy in an incident in south Dublin.

The boy was found with multiple stab wounds at an apartment in the Poddle Park area of Kimmage at about 7pm last night, Monday 10 July.

It is understood that the child was found in the upstairs of the apartment, and that a woman, believed to be the child's mother, was found injured in a downstairs room. She is being treated at St James's Hospital, where her condition is described as serious.

According to reports, gardaí are treating the investigation as a homicide and are said to "have a good idea" of what happened during the incident.

Investigation Launched After Woman's Body Found

Murder Investigation Underway After Discovery Of Child's Body
Gardaí have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a 2-year-old boy's body at an apartment in South Dublin. It is understood officers found the body at about 15:00 on Thursday at an apartment in Ridge Hall, Ballybrack. The child was pronounced dead at the scene. According to reports the child had sustained stab wounds.
