Seven-Month-Old Child Dies After Being Left Inside A Car

A seven-month-old child has died in hospital after being left in a car for around five hours on the hottest day of the year.

A number of emergency services attended the scene in the village of Dundrum, west County Tipperary, on Thursday, 25 May.

According to reports, the child's father was due to drop the child off at creche on his way to work but is said to have become "distracted by a phone call".

It is understood the child was left unattended in the car between 8am and 1pm, when she was found "unresponsive".

The child was airlifted to University Hospital Limerick where she was pronounced dead.

Reports have said that the child's death is being treated as a tragic accident.

Mother Could Face Child Neglect Charges
A mother from Dublin could face child neglect charges after leaving her two-year-old in a hot car for approximately 90 minutes. Gardai were called after shoppers seen the child in the car in Carrickmines. The car was surrounded by Gardai when the mother returned. The child was taken for a check-up before being returned to its mother.

Garda Must Charge Or Release Father Of Brothers Found In Boot
The father of two boys found dead in the boot of his crashed car must today be charged or released by gardaí. The brothers, Eoghan (10) and Ruairi (5) Chada, were found in the boot of their fathers car when it crashed outside Westport on Monday afternoon.
