Assorted Drugs Worth €300,000 Seized In Dublin

A quantity of drugs worth an estimated €300,000 has been seized during an Operation Thistle operation in Dublin's South City Centre.

One kilo of heroin, 1.75kg of cocaine and 1.8kg of cannabis resin were seized during the operation targeting organised criminals in the area.

Gardaí from the D.M.R. South Central Division, assisted by members of the Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, Special Detective Unit and officers from the Criminal Assets Bureau, carried out a number of planned searches within the Kevin Street District on Wednesday morning.

The assorted drugs were discovered in two premises, one on York Street and the other in the Mount Browne area.

Two men, aged 22 and mid 40s, were arrested during the raids and are currently being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice, (Drug Trafficking), Act, 1996 at Kevin Street and Kilmainham Garda Stations.

Man Held Over Airport Drugs Seizure
A 30-year-old man has been arrested after customs officers at Dublin Airport seized cocaine with an estimated street value of €70,000 on Thursday. It is understood that the man, reported to be Polish, had arrived on a flight from Brussels. He was taken to Santry Garda station.

Men Arrested And Drugs Seized In Inner City Raids
Two men have been arrested and drugs seized during a planned search of a property in Dublin's inner city on Tuesday morning. Gardaí said that the search was part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs. During a search at Oliver Bond House, heroin with an estimated street value of €90,000 was seized.

Separate Operations Turn Up €500,000 Of Drugs
Two separate Gardaí operations conducted yesterday have recovered almost half a million euro in illegal drugs. In the first operation last night, Gardaí from the North Central Drugs Unit in Dublin carried out a search of a car at Bellewstown Co Meath. During the course of the search, 3kg of Cocaine was discovered.
