Decision Over Maighne Wind Farm Application Extended

An Bord Pleanála have extended their decision time over the Maighne Wind Farm application in Co Kildare.

General election candidate Cllr James Lawless said the vast number of submissions in objection to Maighne Wind Farm show how passionate and angry the residents of Kildare North are towards the potentially unwanted wind farm.

Mr Lawless said: "We now have a situation where residents will be living in limbo up until 29 April 2016. I don't believe this is fair enough on the home and land owners who are clear they do not want a wind farm in their back gardens.

"Having had the pleasure of canvassing residents in the lead up to the general election it is evident that many are concerned about the damage the wind farm will do to their area. This same concern has been present at the meetings I have attended on this matter.

"As an objector, councillor, and general election candidate I will continue to work on this matter to see that a positive result may come for the residents of Kildare North. Interestingly I would expect a new government to be in power by 29 April 2016 and therefore a new approach should be taken to this unwanted wind farm."
