Witness Appeal Following Fatal Road Collision

Gardaí in Mullingar have appealed for witnesses of a fatal road traffic accident on Thursday, 17 September.

A man, aged in his 40s, was fatally injured when the truck he was driving left the road at approximately 12:30. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Mullingar Regional Hospital.

The accident occurred on the N52 between Mullingar and Delvin in the townland of Williamstown.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact garda in Mullingar.

An 18-year-old male was fatally injured when the car he was travelling in, as a front seat passenger, collided with a tractor at approximately 11.50pm in Cloonart, Bornacoola. Man Appears In Court Over Gardai Assaults
A 38-year-old Drogheda man has appeared before a special sitting of Mullingar District Court charged in relation to assaults on two gardaí in the early hours of Monday morning. The man was alleged to have assaulted the female gardaí at about 3am on George’s Street, Drogheda, Co Louth.

A man has appeared in court charged in connection with a fatal stabbing in Longford. A man in his 30s was discovered with chest wounds in the Great Water Street area at around 11.50am on Tuesday, 01 November. He was taken Mullingar Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Separate Road Collisions Fatal
Two men, one of whom was an elderly pensioner, have been killed on Ireland's roads this weekend in two separate incidents. In the latest collision, a 26-year-old male was seriously injured when the car he was driving collided with a wall. He was taken by Ambulance to Mullingar Hospital where he later passed away.
