Renewed Appeal In Fatal Traffic Accident Investigation
Gardaí have renewed an appeal for witnesses to a fatal road traffic accident on the N4 South of Castlebaldwin, Sligo on Thursday, 13 August.
The collision happened at about 11:15 in the morning and involved a number of vehicles and a pedestrian.
A man in his early 60s was fatally injured when he was struck by a vehicle as he was working on the roadside. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Sligo Regional Hospital. A male in his 50’s was also airlifted to University Collage Hospital Galway and two other males were taken to Sligo Regional Hospital with injuries described as non life threatening.
Gardaí still hope to speak to any witnesses or anyone with information, particularly a motorcyclist and a female motorist who stopped and rendered assistance at the scene, to contact them at Ballymote Garda Station on 071 9189500, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Post Mortem For Sligo Assault Victim
A post mortem examination will be carried out today on the body of a 60-year-old man who died in hospital after being assaulted in Sligo town. Cyril Moran was assaulted at his home at River Road in the Cartron Point area of Sligo Town on Thursday morning.

Two Arrested Over Murder Of Martin Kivlehan
Two men have been arrested in connection with the murder of Martin Kivlehan. 59-year-old Mr Kivlehan was found with stab wounds at his apartment in Sligo on 03 August. Both men were both arrested in Sligo town and are currently being detained at Sligo Garda Station under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939.

Man Arrested Following Fatal Stabbing
A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in Dublin on Monday. Shane O'Connor was found on the street in Donaghmede at around 7am. He later died in hospital. A man is his 20s is being held at Coolock garda station.

Fatal Assault In Sligo
Gardai are investigating a fatal assault in Sligo that occurred in the early hours of Monday morning. A man aged 23 admitted to Sligo General Hospital was declared dead at 6:10am. The scene at Joe McDonnell Drive in Cranmore has been sealed off and is currently being examined.
