Garda Appeal For Witnesses To Fatal Castlebar Road Accident
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road traffic accident in Castlebar on Thursday.
An 18-year-old woman was seriously injured when she was hit by a car at about 17:00 on the Castlebar to Claremorris Road.
She was taken to Mayo General Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 23:30.
The 83-year-old driver of the car, and a young male passenger, were also taken to hospital as a precaution as no injuries were reported.
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to contact Castlebar Garda Station on 094 9038200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Appeal Issued Following Fatal Road Accident
Gardaí have appealed for information on a fatal road traffic accident in Carrowntreila, Ballina. A 20-year-old man was fatally injured when the car he was driving left the road and collided with a tree on the old Ballina to Foxford road at about 6:30pm on Wednesday. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The appeal concerns a road accident in which a 78-year-old woman died when a car she was in collided with a second car on the Coast Road, in Malahide.
