70-Year-Old Man Arrested Over Fatal Accident That Killed Cyclist

A 70-year-old man has been arrested by gardaí investigating a fatal road traffic accident in Gneeveguilla, Co Kerry.

A cyclist was fatally injured when hit by a car in Scrahanfadda, on Sunday, 01 July.

The elderly man is being detained at Bandon Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4- Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Investigations are continuing.

Fatal Road Crash At Blackrock
Gardai at Blackrock are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision at Frasctai Road, Blackrock, Co Dublin at approximately 8.40am this morning. The incident occurred when a female cyclist, believed to be in her mid 20s, was hit by a truck. She was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

Garda Appeal For Witnesses To Fatal Road Accident
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses of a fatal road accident in Co Kerry. A 24-year-old man died when the car he was driving hit a wall on the N69 Tralee-Listowel Road in Glenballyma in Tralee. The accident happened at about 21:45 on Saturday. A post-mortem is due to be carried out today.

Man Arrested In Connection With Galway Murder
There has been an arrest in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in Galway in June. Gardaí at Galway investigating the murder of Kieran Cunningham on the 3rd of June this year have announced that yesterday evening they held a 27-year-old male in the Dublin area in connection with the incident.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
