Consultation On Early Years Education Launched

A public consultation on early years education in Ireland has been launched.

The report is part of a major review being conducted into early years qualifications.

Minister for Education and Skills, Jan O'Sullivan TD, launched the consultation and is now inviting submissions from interested parties. This includes childcare practitioners, students, parents, education and training providers and employers in the sector, as well as anyone else with an interest in this area.

Minister O'Sullivan said: "We want this qualifications review to be informed by the views of those who know most about early years education. The review aims to ensure that childcare practitioners are being equipped with the most appropriate blend of knowledge and skills to support quality educational outcomes for all of our children in early years settings."

The closing date for submissions is Friday 10 April 2015. The findings will then be presented at a forum in the Department before the review is finalised.

Further information on the consultation process can be found here.
