Irish Tourist Killed In Hit-And-Run Incident

An Irish man has been killed in a hit-and-run traffic incident while on holiday in Florida.

Police in North Lauderdale have said a 41-year-old man died after he was hit by a BMW SUV.

He and two Irish friends had just left a bar and were on their way back to the hotel early yesterday morning, when the man was hit while crossing a street.

The driver fled the scene, but a 35-year-old man has been arrested and is facing a charge of leaving the scene of an accident causing death.

Police are currently in the process of notifying the man's family.

A Co Meath man has been electrocuted in a tragic accident in Russia. Martin Kerrane, 26, was electrocuted during a train journey in the Omsk region of Siberia at the weekend. It was reported that the accident happened as he got off the train and accidentally touched an electrical cable.

Missing Cork Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.

Missing Co Mayo Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
