Irish Water Seeks Tenders For Dublin Water Supply Project

The €500m Dublin Water Supply project, which will supply water to Dublin from the River Shannon, has been relaunched.

Irish Water has taken over the scheme, originally proposed in 2010, from Dublin City Council, as part of its work since taking responsibility for water services last month.

The scheme would see 350 million litres of water a day pumped from the River Shannon to Dublin to be used as the city's drinking water.

Irish Water are now seeking tenders for a "survey specialist" to carry out water quality tests at Lough Derg and the Parteen Basin.

The company state that the notice is "an urgent need" call with potential tenders only having 10 days to submit a bid.
