Man Questioned Over Dublin Stabbing
A man is being questioned after a man was found stabbed to death at a house in Co Dublin.
Michael Gannon, 55, was attacked in his daughter's home at Mourne Park, Skerries, on Thursday evening. It is understood he was babysitting his two grandchildren at the time.
The attack happened shortly before 6pm.
When gardaí arrived at the scene, they tried but failed to gain access to another house nearby to speak to a man there. Following negotiations, they were allowed in and a man was arrested a short time later.
The man, who is thought to originally be from Romania, was taken to Balbriggan Garda Station where he is still being questioned.
A knife has also been recovered and the scene remains sealed-off for a forensic examination.
A post-mortem examination on Mr Gannon's body is due to be carried out.

Man's Body Found In Westmeath
The body of a man, believed to be in his 20s, has been found in a camper van in Collinstown, County Westmeath. The man’s body was discovered in the vehicle at around 4.00am on Thursday morning at Lough Lene in the village. A man in his late 20s is in custody at Mullingar Garda Station and is being questioned in connection with the incident.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Woman's Body Found In County Laoise
Gardai are continuing with their investigations after the discovery of a woman's body in County Laoise. The woman, believed to be in her 30s, was found at a flat in Mountrath. The alarm was raised shortly after 8pm on Friday. A man in his 30s has been arrested in relation to the incident and is detained at Portlaoise Garda Station.

Laois Murder Investigation - Woman Released
A woman arrested in connection with the murder of Co. Laois man Patrick Burke earlier this month has been released without charge. Mr Burke was found dead in a downstairs bedroom in his home in Ballybrittas shortly before 11pm on August 19 after Gardai were called to the house.
