US Seek Extradition Of Child Porn 'Facilitator'
Authorities in the United Stated have appeared in the High Court in Dublin to seek the extradition of a 28-year-old man accused of being "the largest facilitator of child porn on the planet".
Eric Eoin Marques, with an address at Mountjoy Square, Dublin, is charged with distribution, conspiring to distribute and advertising child abuse images and videos.
Marques, who holds both an Irish and US passport, was arrested on a warrant issued in Maryland, USA, for the distribution and advertising of pornography involving children.
Marques was denied bail after it was accepted he was a flight risk, and remanded in custody to appear again on Thursday.
It is understood that Marques was unknown to authorities, had no previous convictions and was described by the FBI as "anonymous".
He will appear in the High Court again on August 08.
