Boat surveying services can be undertaken anywhere in Ireland, the UK or worldwide. Joe McCollam is an Affiliate Member of the Yacht Designers & Surveyors Association (YDSA) and is a Nominated Surveyor to carry out MCA Codes of Practice Surveys.

If you are considering purchasing a used boat, or if you are in the process of getting a new boat built, a very important element of the process is to get the boat surveyed.

Boat surveys on used boats involve a pre-purchase survey (generally carried out on one visit to the boat) and compiling a full report on the vessel. The Survey Report will include a detailed list of the condition of the boat along with photos. It will also highlight any defective areas that were found during the survey.

New Build Surveys generally include numerous visits to the boat yard during the construction of the boat to ensure that it is meeting build standards and the specification as agreed with the owner.

McCollam Marine is based in Northern Ireland. We cover the whole of the UK and Ireland with our survey work.
